12-YEAR OLD RAISES $6,100!

In the fall of 2010, young Kailey Z. decided to raise money to fight breast cancer. She decided to donate all the money she could raise to the International Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Kailey designed special T-shirts, reserved the local VFW hall and raised awareness of the event among family and friends. A Milwaukee television station heard of Kailey's efforts and invited her to an on-air interview.

Her October 30, 2010 event was a huge success. Kailey donated all proceeds to IBCRF...all $6,100!

ONE FAMILY'S EFFORTS TO FIGHT BREAST CANCER

On Saturday, August 28, 2010 a very special and fun event was held to benefit the International Breast Cancer Research Foundation and others affected by cancer.

This was the 6th Annual Linda Dworak Memorial Golf Outing.

Linda passed away from breast cancer in December 2004. She was a very upbeat person and was eager to find a cure before she passed away. She was very involved with the Relay for Life, and she was good at raising money. In her last year involved with the Relay, she raised $14,000 on her own.

Linda’s friends, Bob and Pat Nelson (herself a breast cancer survivor and patient of IBCRF's Dr. Love) and their son, Trent, of Manitowoc, WI decided to honor Linda’s memory by carrying on her fund-raising efforts. In 2004, Trent and Bob thought of hosting a golf outing. After that first outing, they held a cook-out for a small group.

Every year since then, their golf outing has grown. All of the money that they raise from the golf outing goes to the International Breast Cancer Research Foundation and other families dealing with breast cancer.

One of the families they choose goes on a weekend getaway to The Beacons in Minocqua. This has been a great success. They always choose afamily that is going through cancer. It is their way of giving back and give the family a weekend of relaxation. Pat and Bob Nelson
The golf outing was held at the beautiful Wander Springs Golf Course in Greenleaf, WI and is a 4-person scramble.

If you would like to be a sponsor in next year’s outing or for more information, please contact Trent Nelson at trnelson20@comcast.net
