These individuals guide the high ethical standards of IBCRF research which were recognized by the award of the 1997 Westerman Prize in Clinical Research Ethics from the American Federation for Medical Research.

OUR DIRECTORS INCLUDE:
DENNIS ANDERSON
Dennis Anderson spent sixteen years in state public health programming, working on issues related to public school health screening, maternal and child health, preventive health services, adult health and chronic disease.
Dennis is now retired after seventeen years as a university research administrator, most notably at the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center of Loyola University Chicago.
Related experience includes membership on the Clinical Protocol Review Committee of the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center and service as an alternate on the Institutional Review Board of Hazleton Laboratories-America. Dennis has also served on the Board of Directors of the Dane County (Wisconsin) Humane Society, the Board of Directors of the Southern Wisconsin Second Harvest Food Bank, and the City of Madison (Wisconsin) Ethics Board.
KATHERINE BLANKENBURG
Over the course of her career, Katherine has held executive positions at multi-billion-dollar institutions in Minneapolis, Nashville, Baltimore, Madison, WI, and more. She returned to the mid-west to “retire” and instead found yet another opportunity to build a high-impact sales culture in the financial services industry.
Katherine is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business. For 5 years she had her own consulting firm, speaking at national conferences and working with a variety of large regional banks.
Having lost both her mother and grandmother to breast cancer, she has been an active participant in Dr. Love's research programs for more than 20 years. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 and now a 9-year survivor, she has first hand experience with what IBCRF's innovative research can do to save lives.
SHARON CHAMBERLAIN

Sharon is the president and founder of Chamberlain Research Consultants, Inc.
Previously, she was Director of Consumer Affairs at the Wisconsin Gas Company and the first Executive Director of the Wisconsin Citizens Utility Board. She is on the Board of Directors and Executive Board of Downtown Madison, Inc., as well as on the Board of Directors of Johnson Bank and Madison Cutting Die.
Sharon has been named one of 5 Women of Distinction for 2009 in the annual YWCA Madison Women of Distinction Awards. Honorees’ community service, professional achievement, integrity, leadership and dedication to the lives of others and to the quality of life for all stands as a reflection of the YWCA’s historic mission and values. Nominations are solicited from area civic clubs, community groups, YWCA members and past Women of Distinction honorees.
MARY HOUGHTON
Mary Houghton is President of ShoreBank Corporation, a $2.3 billion-asset regulated commercial bank holding company in Chicago that works in low income markets in the U.S. and in Africa and Asia. She received an M.A. in international studies from Johns Hopkins University and B.A. cum laude from Marquette University.
Houghton was named 2004 Community Banker of the Year by the American Banker. She and Ronald Grzywinski of ShoreBank jointly received the 2008 Theodore Hesburgh Ethics Award, University of Notre Dame business school and 2007 America’s Best Leaders Award, US News and World Report
She is a director of the Calvert Foundation and Womens World Banking and a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values.
CHRISTINA OSBOURN
Christina Osbourn is currently the Executive Director for the Mid-Kansas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Her passion for finding a cure is derived from witnessing her mother's battle with and survival of breast cancer on three separate occasions.
Before accepting the role as the first Executive Director for Komen
Mid-Kansas, Christina was a Client Executive for McKesson Corporation, the nation’s oldest and largest healthcare services company. Christina graduated from the University of Kansas where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration,with a major in Marketing and a concentration in Psychology.
Christina is an active volunteer within her community. She was recently appointed as the Grants and Solicitations Chair for the Junior League of Wichita.
JAMES WOODS
Dr. Woods practices at Milwaukee General and Vascular Surgery, S.C. specializing in comprehensive breast care.
Dr. Woods has received numerous honorary degrees and awards - a four-time recipient of the Physician Recognition Award from the American Medical Association, ranked 4th in “The Best Doctors in America” listing, and in 2000, awarded “Teacher of the Year” by the Medical College of Wisconsin.

SUSAN REYNOLDS
Susan Reynolds spent 20 years in the Los Angeles retail community before returning to her native Wisconsin as the Director of Website Merchandising and Artist Services for Guild.com. She spent 3 years as a Senior Merchant for Famous Footwear and was the Executive Director for IBCRF. Susan is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
